Made to make someone's day

MailBakes was created to help people feel remembered, loved and appreciated. One slice at a time.

A way to say “I'm thinking of you.”
A way to celebrate someone from afar.
A way to be there, even when you can't.

MailBakes is built around one simple idea: making it easier to show up for the people who matter.

For the moments when life gets busy or distance gets in the way.

Every Cake Card combines freshly baked cake with your own personal message, delivered across the UK. A small gesture that turns into a moment.

Our story

My sister Millie and I started MailBakes in 2024, but it really began over 10 years earlier in our parents' kitchen.

The kitchen years

At 16, Millie started baking homemade cakes and selling them through her Instagram page. Five years later, her business had well and truly outgrown our family kitchen, so she moved into her first bakery. Our parents were delighted to finally have their kitchen back.

When being there wasn't possible

Four years later, we lost a family member extremely close to us. Our family was scattered across the UK, and we couldn't always be there for the people we loved. We just wanted a way to make them feel like we were there, even when we couldn't be.

So we sent cake

We started posting Millie's cake with a personal message inside. It was something small, but it gave us a way to show the people we loved that we were thinking of them even from miles away. That was the idea that became MailBakes.

The Cake Card was born

We turned that idea into something anyone could send. Freshly baked cake inside a personalised card, small enough to fit straight through the letterbox. No waiting in. Just cake, your message and a little surprise on the doormat.

Today

Thankfully, most Cake Cards now go out for happier reasons. Birthdays, anniversaries, congratulations, thank yous, or even 'just because'.

The reason behind MailBakes is still the same.

To help the people we love feel a little closer, even when we can't be there.

Our mission

Loneliness isn't always obvious. It can look like a hard week, living far from family, grieving quietly, starting over, or celebrating alone.

We believe small gestures can mean a lot. A few thoughtful words. A slice of cake through the post. A simple reminder that someone is thinking of you.

That's why everything we do is built around helping people feel a little less alone. Whether it's a birthday, a milestone, a difficult day, or no reason at all.

Where we're going

Our goal is simple: to make it easier for more people to show up for the ones they care about, wherever they are. To keep spreading small moments of kindness, connection and cake across the UK and beyond.

Because sometimes, cake really can say it better.
